Can You Gain Weight For a Week of Bad Eating? The Real Truth

Can You Gain Weight For a Week of Bad Eating? The Real Truth

I agree that we all love to eat anything we want and we love but how much weight will we gain if we eat for a day or a week?

There is no set stone answer for this question. It really depends on how many more calories you’re bad at eating for a week. There may be other factors which determine your weight gain like stress and your activity levels.

As you read further, you will know that can you gain weight when you do bad eating for a day or a week and especially how long will it take you to notice your weight gain.

How long Does it Take to Notice Weight Gain

You eat 3000 calories on one day,

Next day 3300 calories,

On it’s next day 3500 calories,

And still you’re not seeing any weight gain in your body?

So how long does it take to notice your weight gain?

The answer is you can notice your weight gain after 10 to 15 days, of course you can see that your body weight is increasing but it will take a few more days to notice by you and others.

Will Eating Bad for a Week Make Me Gain Weight?

When I was on a weight loss diet, a random person came to me while eating my donuts at the restaurant and told me, don’t eat this, you will gain weight and literally I was listening to all his bullshit while eating my donuts!

Why did I tell you this story?

The reason behind telling this story is you may be thinking that I eat bad/junk/fast food for a day, now I’m going to gain weight.

Is that right?

The truth is no matter how much bad eating you do for a day, you will not gain weight.

What makes your weight gain then?

Weight gain happens when you eat more than what your body needs for a consistent period of time i.e. calorie surplus for a long time.

And 7 days or a week is a long time to show a food effect on your body.

What I’m trying to say is if you do bad eating for a WEEK you will gain weight and most of that will be fat.

You’re not doing clean bulking, you’re doing dirty bulking OR you’re following a weight loss diet which needs a calorie deficit to lose weight and you break that principle by eating bad foods/meals for a week.

Can 2 days of Bad Eating Make You Gain Weight?

As I said you will not gain weight because you eat bad food for one day but now you must be wondering what about 2 days?

Will I gain weight If I eat bad meals for 2 days?

The answer is it really depends on how you manage your remaining calories.

Suppose your daily goal calories are 2700 so it will be 18900 calories for a week.

Now if you eat 3000 calories for two days and aren’t able  to manage your remaining days calories then you will gain weight.

Allow me to explain!

Scenario 1 You aren’t Managed to eat less on remaining days

Day 1: 2700caloires

Day 2: 2700calories

Day 3: 3000 calories

Day 4: 3000 calories

Day 5: 3400 calories

Day 6: 2900 calories

Day 7: 2500 calories

Scenario 2: You Managed to eat less on remaining days

Day 1: 2700caloires

Day 2: 2700calories

Day 3: 3000 calories

Day 4: 3000 calories

Day 5: 2500 calories

Day 6: 2500 calories

Day 7: 2500 calories

Now the total calories of scenario 1 is 20200 and the number of scenario 2 is 18900 calories.

So when you do not manage to eat less due to the bad feeling you have which comes from one bad day, you will be more likely to eat more on the next day and at the end of the week, you will gain weight.

But if you’re able to eat less as you know that one day of bad eating will not gain my weight if I eat less than what my target goal calories then you will not gain weight!

I know it sounds a little bit confusing but in simple words just manage your remaining days like this so your total calorie intake is the same although you eat more on one day.

Do You gain weight immediately after eating

It is certainly not possible to gain weight immediately after eating as there are many many many processes that the body has to do in order to gain your body’s weight.

In fact, it takes around 4-6 hours to digest all of it that you eat and the effect of how much you eat can be seen on the scale the next day.

Will I gain Weight after One Day of Binge Eating

There is a very minor difference between binge eating and overeating.

But Binge eating is a physiological problem and hard to overcome without a doctor.

If you do binge eating once a week then it’s fine but doing binge eating 3 or 4 times per week is not good at all.

If you do binge eating once a week then you will not gain any weight but there are more chances that if you do more you will gain weight.

What’s NEXT!

As I explained in the whole article, you have to just focus on weekly calorie intake.

No matter what you eat and how many times you do bad eating, if your calorie intake for the week is the same as the regular week then you will not gain weight.

If you want to go party, go and enjoy your meals with friends and family without worrying about weight gain from 1 day.
